Pair of French antique bronze rococo mirrors.
Here we have a charming pair of French decorative mirrors with a swirling rococo decoration.
The mirrors are heavy in weight as they are in bronze. They are a lovely matching pair and have wonderful swirling decoration with faces at the tops. The mirrors themselves are quality glass with bevelled edges. The overall condition is good with just the usual amount of wear that you would find on aged pieces like this. There are some small dots of paint here and there probably tiny splashes from home painting in the past. There is a broken screw at the base of the brass back plate on one of the mirrors, but this has no effect on the security of the mirror plate. The mirror plates themselves have some minor foxing here and there and there is a little bit of loss to the silvering of one of the mirrors in the top right hand corner which you should be able to see in the photos. We have not attempted to polish the bronze up, preferring to leave them in original found condition. They probably date to the late nineteenth century and are in the Eighteenth century Louis XV style. There is a hole at the top of the mirrors and two at the base for securing to the wall.
