There is also a date which looks like 1939 but it is quite faded so it is hard to be sure. This is quite an old canvas so I would think it is going to be early twentieth century. \u003cbr\u003e\nI have visited Hambye abbey, it is the most beautiful romantic spot set  deep down in a lovely valley with a little river running through with steep banks of trees rising up out of the valley, a really tranquil place.\u003cbr\u003e\nThis picture really captures the romantic feel of this wonderful ruined abbey.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe overall condition is good there is  very faint scratch in the top left of the picture but it is very minor and hard to see.\u003cbr\u003e\nSympathetically reframed it would make a fabulous addition to any collection.\u003cbr\u003e\nA beautiful French painting ideal for adding a touch of the French country to your home decor.
