How To Clean Copper Pans With 2 Natural Ingredients.

Ingredients required: Lemon juice, fresh or bottled. Salt, any fine edible salt.
Method. Prepare the copper pan by washing it in hot soapy water to remove any grease or dirt, then rinse and dry. Next mix 1 tablespoon of salt with enough lemon juice to make a paste. Gently rub the mixture all over the pan with a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use anything abrasive to apply the paste as this may scratch your pan. Heavily tarnished pans may need a second application. The pan will turn a pale pink colour. Finish by washing the pan in hot soapy water, rinsing and drying. The pan will start to take on it's copper colour within a few days and will darken over time. Some people like to use a copper polish after this method, we choose not to as we prefer this old natural method. Copper has been cleaned this way for centuries in Europe and this method can be used on most copper items, even antiques.
