French antique watercolor painting of a lakeside scene dated 1866. Here we have a stunning French watercolor painting showing a view of a castle above a lakeside village. This splendid picture has an initial which looks like EG and a date for 1866 in the bottom right hand corner. This picture is painted by a very talented artist, it is a fabulous little painting. It is a quality painting and has probably been under glass for the last 150 years. it would probably be a good idea to put it back under glass if you have it reframed as this helps to protect watercolors from foxing and fading. A charming antique French watercolor that would make a splendid addition to any home decor.

Condition: The overall condition is good for its age, there are a few very minor surface foxing marks here and there which I have pointed out in the photos and also one area towards the outside edge where there is a mark which you can again see in the photos. The painting is not framed but it does have its inner mount still in place.
