Antique crucifix. French brass antique crucifix.
A lovely old antique French crucifix from here in the heart of Normandy.
This crucifix is from the Napoleon III period which is the nineteenth century, so it has been through much in it‘s long life.
The crucifix is very unusual having the three figures which I think are Jesus on the cross with probably Mary and Joseph below. The piece has a weighted base and has a slight bend to the cross which I think really adds to its authenticity and charm. There is general wear and rubbing around the whole piece as you would expect on a aged piece like this. I have not attempted to polish it, I have left it in its found condition.
A fabulous and unusual French antique crucifix ready to give many more years useful service to it‘s next owner.
Dimensions approx. Height 22 cm 8 1/2 ins. Width 8 cm 3 ins.
