Antique oil painting. French antique still life oil on canvas.
Here we have a fabulous large antique painting showing flowers in a glass vase. We believe the flowers may be Anemone de Caen. It is a really well painted and eye catching picture.
The painting has a signature in the bottom left hand corner with a date for 1887. The signature looks to be M Cannere.
There is something very special about this old painting it really does have antique charm in abundance.
The overall condition is good, there are a few small holes to the canvas which you only really see when you hold it up to daylight, this is quite usual on old canvases. There are a few minor scratches to the paint surface which I haver tried to show in the photos but nothing too bad for its age. You can see also on the back a couple of patches where the canvas has been repaired in the past. The frame itself has some gaping top right which I have shown in one photo and you can also see on this photo that there is some minor cracking to the gesso of the frame, this is present throughout the frame. It is quite a large and heavy painting so please check the shipping cost carefully.
