French antique communion picture in original gilt frame. Here we have a beautiful little antique picture showing a souvenir of communion dating to 1890. The stunning gilt frame is original to the piece and is a fabulous example of an antique gilt frame.
We found this old picture in a French antique market.
The picture inside is hand painted, I am not sure but it may be on silk. The frame is in good condition there is a small chip to the gesso top left which you can see in the photos and some paint loss on the sides. There is also some clear tape over the back which you can see in the photos which would be easy to remove but which I am going to leave in situ.
A beautiful little original antique from France.
