Antique copper drip tray. 19th century roasting drip tray.
A fabulous piece of French antique copperware. This is a very large piece of antique copper.
These old trays were originally used for catching the fat from roasted meats, and are becoming harder to find these days.
The tray itself is in copper and has a tin lining which is quite worn, the handle is in iron and attaches in three places with a copper rivets on each fixing.
It is in a used condition with a few dings here and there but nothing too bad for its age.
There is some tarnishing to the iron handle which you can see in the photos, there are some drop marks on the copper which I have tried to show in the photos but these should polish out in time. The handle has a hole at the end which enables it to be hung on the wall of your kitchen so you can show it off in its full glory.
A lovely traditional piece if French copper ware that would make a splendid addition to any kitchen decor, giving that French farmhouse look.
