A set of Antique French books. These books are in the French language, three volumes of "Histoire Romaine" 7, 11 and 15. I can‘t see a date on volume 7 but volume 11 has the date 1804 and volume 15 has the date 1805. They have leather spines with red segments for the titles and volume numbers, and the rest of the spines have nice floral gilt decoration. There is some lovely marbling to the inside of the covers and also on the page ends which is a nice decorative touch. The books are all about Rome, and the history of Rome.. A lovely group of books with some splendid marbled paper decoration inside and nice gilded titles on the leather spines.( candlestick not included )
Condition: Good used condition with the usual wear you find on these old books. As you can see in the photos volume 11 has had some water damage on the first couple of pages which has left a mark, but apart from that the books are in remarkable condition considering they are about 220 years old.
