Antique books. Two antique books.
Here we have a pair of splendid nineteenth century books.
One is in French and one in English.
The French book is "illustrations litteraires de France" dated to 1837 and the English book is "Lord Chesterfields letters" dated to 1815.
Both books are fully leather bound and as you can see there are a few age related issues with scuffing and wear all round. The English book has a part missing at the top of the spine. the English book also has a lot of discolouration to the pages, but that is to be expected in a book that is dated back to the time of the battle of Waterloo.
The books have marbling on the insides of the covers.
