French antique brass pan.
Here we have a splendid old antique brass pan.
This pan is not for cooking with it is for decoration only, unless it is retinned. The tin lining does show quite a lot of wear. This is quite an unusual pan as they usually come in copper. I think this pan certainly feels like it comes from Villedieu les poeles here in Normandy, the town of the pans, where a lot of the quality pans come from.
There is a little bit of nibbling to the rim but nothing too bad for its great age.
The pan has developed a lovely deep rich patina over the years which really adds to it‘s appeal.
These old pans make great display pieces for the kitchen and can really add to that French farmhouse look.
