French 19th century bronze inkwell. Antique Griffin inkwell.
There is no liner with this inkwell.
Here we have an absolutely fabulous French antique inkwell with a griffin topped central well.
This beautiful piece is in bronze with typical French decoration. Open fretwork with a floral design and little faces.
The little winged griffin or dragon on top is very cute with his little curly tail.
The handles have a swan neck design which is a really nice touch and adds to the overall quality feel of the piece.
Condition: The overall condition is good however the lining is missing from the well as is often the case with these old pieces.
There is some verdi gris present which I have highlighted in the photos. There is also some verdi gris on the pot and lid.
A wonderful old inkwell that would look stunning on your desk and add a touch of French chateau style to your home decor.
