This lovely old plate has hand painted decoration and is a fine example of its type. It is of a nice large size and is very striking.
As you can see in the photos there are quite few chips around the rim, I just think this adds to the unique style and authenticity of this piece. You can also see on the back some markings where I think there was a metal hanger attached, probably for many years. There is a mark in blue in the centre of the back of the plate. We believe it to date to around 1760 but it may well be earlier. A fabulous unique and original Delft plate that would make a fabulous addition to any home decor.
