French antique binoculars. Antique field glasses.
Here we have a wonderful old pair of French binoculars.
We believe them to date to the early twentieth century and we believe they were probably used in the first world war.
There is leather applied to the main metal body, and apart from a little scuffing the leather is in good order.
The makers are Radiguet of Paris which is impressed around the eye lenses and also is on the inside of the lid of the leather case. The leather case itself is in good order with just the usual wear marks that you would expect to see on an aged leather case like this.
The binoculars work very well, the mechanism for raising them is a little sticky, but nothing too bad, the clarity through the lenses is very good.
A fabulous and interesting pair of binoculars in their original leather case.
