French antique book.
Here we have a lovely old French antique book dated to 1854.
The book is titled "Histoire de Charles I" and is quarter bound in leather in a nice red colour with gilt decoration and title on the spine. The book is by M Guizot, and is a second edition. The book is a history of the English king Charles the first. The book is written in French.
There is some wear to the front and back covers as you can see in the photos, but the spine is in quite good order with very nice gilded decoration. There is some minor foxing here and there on the pages inside which I have tried to give an example of in the photos, but nothing too bad at all for the age of the book.
There is some really lovely marbling inside the front and back covers which is in nice condition with just one tear on the back page.
A lovely antique book ready to add a touch of antique charm to your bookshelf.
