Antique oil painting of a bearded gentleman. 19th century portrait.
Here we have a wonderful antique portrait of a gentleman sporting a rather splendid beard.
The portrait is really well painted and is obviously the work of a very accomplished artist.
The painting is quite mesmerising and the eyes seem to follow you around the room.
There is a signature in the bottom left had corner for L Noel. There are a few condition issues, as you can see in the photos there is some scratching to the bottom right hand corner and there is a very small dent to the left of the gentlemans face which you can see in the photos. At a certain angle you can see on the painting around the face, the crackling is formed into a circular pattern. you can see this clearly on photo four.
There is the usual minor crackling to the paint and some other very minor surface scratches but the overall condition of this antique painting is good for it‘s age and the frame suits it very nicely.
A fabulous piece of antique art that would make a splendid addition to any collection
