Antique oil painting. French antique oil painting of a soldier with a horse.
Here we have a very interesting old oil on canvas showing a horse standing in a wooded area and a soldier kneeling down and taking aim with his gun.
As you can see there are some condition issues with the painting, it is very faded and you can actually see the tree through the horse, there are also a couple of small holes to the canvas. I have priced the painting accordingly because of the condition issues. I love the horse it is so well painted.
There is what looks to be a signature in the bottom left corner which looks like V.Patry and a date which I think is 1915, so right in the middle of the first world war.
A lovely antique oil painting that would make a perfect addition to any collection.
