French antique copper dessert mold. Antique copper mold made by Trottier.

 A lovely old 19th century French copper pudding mold. This tin lined copper dessert mold was made by Trottier of Paris. In 1814 Charles Trottier opened a shop making copper molds for patisserie in Paris, by 1867 the Trottier's reputation had grown to such an extent they  were producing wares 'by appointment to the Imperial court of Russia.' 

Condition; The overall condition is good with just some minor scratches and dings here and there as you would expect for a copper mold of this age. There are also a couple of tiny pin prick holes to the mold which you can see when you hold it up to the light. This lovely old piece has only had one preliminary clean from us which has removed most of the surface tarnish. There is still some dark tarnish in the grooves of the mold, please see the photos. According to preference the mold can be left as is, it will darken to a rich deep copper colour over time, or can be cleaned again to retain a bright coppery glow. The inside tin lining is quite worn from many years of use but the mold has a real decorative appeal and would look splendid in the kitchen making a wonderful addition to any copper collection.
