French vintage dog statue in black and gold, 24 cm high.

 A lovely French vintage chalkware statue depicting a dog in a sitting position.
He is really well modelled and has good detailing all round. We think he probably dates back to the 1930s- 1940s.  There is no signature which we can find but there is the number 49 impressed into the base. The chalkware is finished in striking yet subtle gold and black tones, simple yet elegant.

Condition: The overall condition is good, There are a couple of small paint losses here and there, you can see in one of the photos there is a little bit of paint loss to the tip of his nose. There is minor rubbing here and there just the usual wear you would expect to see on an aged piece like this.

This really is a beautifully modelled hound and a piece that would enhance any home decor and bring a daily smile to any dog lovers face.
