French antique hand painted cockerel plate. French country plate.
Here we have a wonderful old French decorative plate or dish showing a cockerel, rooster the symbol of France.
The plate is hand painted and has an interesting decorative border in an Art Nouveau design with clovers and hearts.
The overall condition is good for its age, it does have a few rubs and marks here and there which you can see in the photos, as to be expected on such and aged piece. There is a small crack running along the inner part of the rim which may have been a firing crack, it certainly does not detract from the splendour of this lovely decorative plate. A plate that could not be more French country if it tried. A fabulous piece to display on your dresser in the kitchen.
