French antique copper gratin dish. Here we have a lovely old piece of French copper cookware in the form of a gratin dish. This is a fabulous old piece of French copperware full of charm and character. We believe this dish to date to the nineteenth century. I can imagine it hung next to the huge French kitchen fireplace between uses. It is quite light in weight for its size and has brass carrying handles at each end. A really lovely piece of French antique copperware that would look great on display in the kitchen giving that French chateau kitchens look.

Condition: The overall condition is good for its age, it does have some scratching to the copper which you can see in the photos and it looks like at some point in the past it may have had some repair work around the handles area but this just adds to the decorative appeal and unique charm of the piece. It has been well used over the years and the tin lining  shows signs of wear so this pan is probably better used as a decorative item.
