French antique natural history book of beetles, written in French, circa 19th century. This is a fascinating old French book titled "Encyclopedie D‘Histoire Naturelle". We can not find a date for the book but by the style of the book and the printing I would say it is certainly nineteenth century. The book is filled with some fabulous illustrations, dates when the species was found and by who and where papers were published.
Condition: The overall condition is good for its age, there is some foxing to the pages inside as to be expected and there is a slight indent to the cover ends which I have highlighted in one of the photos. The leather bound spine seems to be in good order. A great book for anyone with an interest in natural history, especially bugs.
