French porcelain Madonna statue. Virgin Mary statue.
A really beautiful old porcelain statue depicting the Virgin Mary. We also have alongside this statue a Joseph and baby Jesus statue also in porcelain.
These lovely old pieces are of a very small size, but are really nicely modelled with hand painted decoration. I believe these to be quite old pieces probably dating back to the nineteenth century.
The main ground is white with gilt highlights throughout.
The overall condition is good, we can see no cracks or chips, there is some wear to the gilding as to be expected on pieces like this which would have been well handled over the years. They are similar in size but not a matching pair, as you can see the Madonna statue is slightly taller.
A wonderful pair of old statues that would make a great addition to any home decor and ideal pieces to enhance any prayer room decor.
