Fabulous Sacred heart reliquary. Here we have a wonderful old 19th century reliquary formed as the sacred heart and adorned with glass faceted jewels surrounding a central mother of pearl panel. The panel opens at the back to reveal a small compartment. This really is a beautiful old reliquary and would make a wonderful addition to a collection. A fascinating original historical reliquary that would make a very special addition to your home decor.                                                                                                                                 Condition: The hinge is quite fragile on the panel at the back so it is worth being careful opening an closing it, but it still functions and snaps shut tight.  There is a tiny hairline crack on the mother of pearl panel which I have shown in the photos but this is very minor and hardly shows. This is a fascinating original historical reliquary, stunning to look at and a beautiful devotional piece. It is not however  a toy or very robust, in fact it is quite fragile. Like a delicate work of art it deserves to be on display or kept safe to live on for many more years. This is a very unusual piece that will stop people in their tracks if it is on display. As a personal devotional piece I can imagine it would be rather special and uplifting.
