French oil painting. French vintage mid century boat painting.
A fine example of a French mid century oil painting.
This painting has the benefit of having some information on the back. It was painted in 1962 and is showing tuna boats in the port of Concarneau which is on the west Brittany coast.
The painting is signed bottom right R.Vaur.
The painting is an oil on canvas and is of quite a large size.
The overall condition is good, it just has the usual crackling to the paint in places and has some surface dirt from probably hanging on the same wall for a very long time.
It is a fabulous painting, the artist has used the raised paint to great effect creating wonderful reflections on the water. The painting is full of movement, and life.
This really is a striking picture and would certainly enhance any interior what ever the decor. The great thing about a painting like this is that you can guarantee it is unique, and original.
