A lovely French hand crafted canne a lait from here in Normandy.
The original purpose of these jugs was for carrying milk.
This fine example has a handle to the side and is of a nice size.
The piece has been hand hammered all around which gives a really pleasing finish.
It was made in the famous copper producing town of Villedieu les Poeles here in Normandy and has a stamp on the base.
This piece probably dates to the second half of the twentieth century as the condition is very good with no dents that I can see.
