French Catholic oval wall hanging crucifix. French antique devotional crucifix.
A lovely example of a French devotional crucifix. The crucifix itself is in metal and is housed in an oval frame which has a gesso covering. The cross is backed by an opaque glass.
The piece we believe is quite old and probably dates to the mid nineteenth century. There are a few nibbles here and there to the gesso on the frame which you can see in the photos.
A splendid antique devotional crucifix that would be perfect for a prayer room or for devotional prayers.
