French antique beer jug with slip ware decoration, country Normandy pitcher early 20th century. A country beer jug from the heart of the Normandy countryside. The jug has a moto in French written in slip clay which reads "Biere boire et laisser dire" which roughly translates as Drink beer and let it be said. Condition: Good used condition with a few very minor chips. There are a couple of tiny flea bite chips to the rim of the pouring spout and the interesting floral decoration in black around the body has a few chips but nothing too bad for its age which I would put at early twentieth century.
