French oil painting. French country snow scene.
Here we have a very charming little picture which shows a pond or river in a snowy landscape. There is one issue with this painting which I have pointed out in one of the photos. Towards the top edge there is a small roundish mark which looks almost like a little bit of varnish. Because of this mark we have priced the painting accordingly. I would think the painting dates to the second half of the twentieth century.
It is painted on canvas, and is small in size but large in character.
It is a beautifully painted little picture. There is a signature towards the bottom right hand corner which looks like J Conat but it is quite hard to read.
This really is a striking picture and with a nice new frame would make a great addition to your home decor.
