French impressionist oil painting. French impressionist painting by J Phillippard. A fine example of a French impressionist oil painting. This wonderful picture shows a building in a country landscape. There is a signature in the bottom left hand corner for J Phillippard also Le Mans and the date 1932. There are some labels on the back with some more information but these are a little bit worn. The overall condition is good for its age, there is crackling to the oil paint and you can see the back supports are showing through slightly which is quite usual for an aged painting like this. This really is a striking picture and would certainly enhance any interior whatever the decor. The great thing about a painting like this is that you can guarantee it is unique and original. If you are adding to a collection of French art or are starting a new one, this lovely impressionist painting is a superb example of its type and would enhance any collection.
