WMF Jugendstil silver plated claret jug. This is quite small for a claret jug so please check the dimensions carefully.
Here we have a lovely and unusual jug made by the famous German producers WMF. It is in the form of a small claret jug, with a hinged lid which has a small finial atop.
The jug dates to the Art Nouveau ( or as it was known in Germany the Jugendstil period) and the marks take it to between 1909 and 1914.
The overall condition is good, there is some minor pitting to the silver plated surface but it polishes up very nicely and you can really feel the quality of the piece.
The quality of the workmanship on this piece really stands out, it really is a splendid example of it‘ s type.
A beautiful WMF jug that would enhance any collection and make a lovely addition to your home decor.
