Antique crucifix. French black wooden Napoleon III crucifix.
A lovely old antique French crucifix from here in the heart of Normandy.
This crucifix is from the Napoleon III period which is the nineteenth century, so it has been through much in it‘s long life.
The crucifix is made of ebonised wood and is in reasonable condition for it‘s age. The little skull and crossbones at the base has slight damage and there is also general wear and rubbing around the whole piece as you would expect on a aged piece like this.
All these minor imperfections are marks of a long and useful life, and add to the authenticity and character of the piece.
A fabulous antique crucifix ready to give many more years useful service to it‘s next owner.
