Here we have a splendid antique oil on canvas showing some workers outside some rustic buildings in a wooded setting.
It is quite naively painted but has a certain charm about it.
The painting is quite dark, I imagine it has probably been in the same French country house for many many years where it will have darkened over time with dust from open fires.
This is an old canvas and dates back to the nineteenth century.
The overall condition is good, there a small hole in the canvas just above the gentleman on the left, which I have highlighted in one of the photos. There is also the usual crackling to the paint that is quite normal on an antique painting like this.
A charming antique painting that when sympathetically reframed, would look fabulous as a piece of original French wall art.
A lovely antique oil painting that would make a perfect addition to any collection.
