Antique tile. French antique Givet tile.
Here we have a very interesting old tile with splendid decoration.
It is in a greenish turquoise colour with a bird and what looks like a deer in white.
There seem to be some initials in the bottom right hand corner but these are quite hard to make out.
Something about this tile really caught my eye it has very unusual decoration.
On the back is the name Givet and an inverted 28.
The overall condition is good there is discolouration to the beige coloured body of the tile and light crazing throughout from age.
It is hard to date the tile I would think it is at least early twentieth century but could be earlier.
A fabulous original decorative item and a must for any tile collector.
Dimensions approx. 20 x 20 cm 8 x 8 ins. Combined weight 810g
