French copper pan lid. Antique copper pan lid.
Here we have a splendid example of a French antique copper pan lid.
It is a splendid old piece and certainly has good age to it.
The hand forged iron handle is riveted in place with two copper rivets, and the whole lid exudes rustic charm and character.
This is an old pan lid so there are a few age related marks here and there, which I have tried to show in the photos, but only the usual sort of blemishes that you would expect to see on a piece of antique copper ware off this age. There is some undulation to the copper here and there on the rim of the lid and also tarnishing present on the handle.
This lid would be best kept as a decorative piece rather than for cooking with as there is wear to the tin lining.
A charming old copper pan lid that would look fabulous hung up in the kitchen giving that French farmhouse look to your home decor.
