French antique candlestick holders by Eugene Provost. Antique candleholders.
Here we have a lovely pair of French candlestick holders in a vase shape with insect , lizard and grapevine decoration. The candlesticks are in metal and are signed E. Provost which is Eugene Provost 1836-1885.
They are a very interesting and decorative pair.
The overall condition is good, I would say there is a very slight colouration difference which you can see in the photos and one stands with a very slight wobble. They probably originally stood one at each end of a mantelpiece.
There are a few rubs and marks here and there and some wax remnants still present in the tops.
A charming and unusual pair of antique candleholders that would enhance any home decor.
