French antique dogs head hill walking stick.
Here we have a wonderful old walking stick with a black lacquered handle in the form of a dogs head.
This stick dates to the early twentieth century and as you can see it certainly has had some use over the years. There is some crazing to the lacquer on the dogs head but nothing too bad for its age.
As you can see at the base of the stick there is a metal point so I believe this stick would have been used for walking in the country or in the mountains.
A fabulous and unusual walking cane that would make a great addition to any collection.
