French antique large country bowl from the Alsace.
Here we have a fabulous and very rustic French country bowl. It is of a nice large size and is very striking.
From the decoration I am thinking that this bowl originates in the Alsace region of France over on the French German border. It has some numbers stamped on the back which certainly help date the bowl to the nineteenth century.
The overall condition is good but it does have some inevitable wear to the paintwork on the inside which you can clearly see in the photos. This I think just adds to its originality and charm. There are some minor chips and nibbles here and there but only what you would expect to see on an aged piece like this.
A lovely decorative bowl typical of the traditional French country style, perfect for your farmhouse or country cottage home decor.
