French brass trench art candle holder with back plate.
Here we have a really interesting item in the form of a candlestick holder with a back plate. This was bought from an antique street market here in France and the dealer told us it was a piece of trench art from the first world war. As you can see it has a back plate with embossed decoration which is a nice touch. The overall condition is good it does have one split at the back about one inch long which I have tried to show in the photos but this really does not detract from the splendour of the piece. This is an ideal piece for a military collector or anyone with an interest in history.
