French oil painting. French wartime vintage portrait of a lady .
A fine example of a French mid century oil painting dating to 1945.
It is very nicely painted and is a splendid example of art from the period.
The painting is on board and has a wooden frame although the frame is not great and could probably do with changing.
The overall condition of the painting for its age is good, there is one faint line to the left hand side which I have tried to show in the photos. It is quite hard to see and does not detract from the splendour of the painting. There is a signature and date in the bottom right hand side of the picture " A or H Jourdan 1945"
This painting really captures the fashion of the day and is a nice example of art from the time.
Sympathetically reframed, it would certainly enhance any interior what ever the decor. The great thing about a painting like this is that you can guarantee it is unique, and original.
